The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the official timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation exercise, scheduled to hold nationwide.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the scheme’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, outlining key dates and guidelines for prospective corps members.

According to the NYSC, the three-week orientation course will take place simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The exercise will commence with the reception and registration of prospective corps members from April 22 to midnight on April 24 at designated orientation camps nationwide.

The swearing-in ceremony is slated for April 24, marking the formal start of orientation activities for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members.

The programme is expected to conclude on May 12, after which participants will be deployed to their respective places of primary assignment across the country.

The scheme advised all mobilised graduates to ensure safe travel to their orientation camps, stressing the importance of avoiding night journeys.

It specifically urged prospective corps members to break their journeys by 6:00 p.m. and lodge in safe locations before continuing the following day.

The NYSC reiterated that the orientation course remains a mandatory programme designed to prepare Nigerian graduates for the one-year national service.

Established in 1973, the scheme aims to promote national unity by deploying graduates to states outside their regions of origin.
