Tinubu’s Return From Europe Delayed, President Now Expected In Lagos Tuesday

President Bola Tinubu is no longer expected to return to Nigeria this weekend as earlier announced by the Presidency, with the President now expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29.

Sources within the Presidency said Tinubu’s return date had been shifted to Tuesday, although the Presidency has yet to officially confirm the development.

The latest development follows an announcement by the State House last Monday that the President had extended his working vacation in Europe by a few days and would return to Nigeria at the weekend.

Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for London before proceeding to Paris, France, where he held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.

During his stay in France, the President also witnessed the signing of agreements between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the proposed development of a deep-sea port and a 10,000-hectare special economic zone.

The Presidency has maintained that Tinubu remained in contact with government officials at home and continued to direct the affairs of government while away.

However, as of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the Presidency confirming the new Tuesday return date or the President’s planned arrival in Lagos.

A report published on Sunday also cited a presidential source as saying Tinubu was expected to return to Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, subject to any last-minute change in his itinerary.
