Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has described training camp as his “sanctuary”.

This refuge was likely more welcome than ever following his star-studded wedding to pop superstar Taylor Swift just over a month ago.

The couple exchanged vows on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, in front of about 1,000 guests.

The private ceremony was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler and included celebrities like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Patrick Mahomes, and Steven Spielberg.

Speaking to reporters at the Chiefs’ Missouri training camp, Kelce called the event “the best night of my life”.

He added, “I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s about all I got for that night. It was a crazy night”.

Kelce reflected on the venue, saying, “It’s kind of cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, and the mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married there”.

He joked that the air conditioning was a highlight, noting “the AC was cookin’ baby” during the heat wave.

On the field, Kelce remains focused on proving he can still play at a high level. “I still got a lot of love for this game,” he said.

After the Chiefs’ 6-11 finish last season, he added, “The fact that we didn’t make the playoffs, I moved on pretty quick”.
