EIGHT NSCDC OFFICERS KILLED IN EDO STATE AMBUSH
A devastating ambush attack was carried out by armed men on a convoy escorting a Chinese national in Edo State, resulting in the deaths of eight Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel and a civilian driver. The incident occurred on Friday, September 5, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m. along the Okpella-Agenebode axis.

The NSCDC personnel were attached to the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) Department and were escorting the Chinese national from BUA Cement Company, Okpella. Unfortunately, three officers survived the attack with injuries, while the Chinese expatriate was kidnapped.

The NSCDC has confirmed the incident and expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased officers. “We salute the gallantry of our officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty,” the NSCDC said.
The Corps has assured the public that it is working tirelessly with sister security agencies to rescue the kidnapped Chinese national and bring the perpetrators to justice. “We call on the public to remain calm as we intensify efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice,” the NSCDC added.
