DELTA POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, ARMED ROBBERS, CULTISTS AND DRUG PEDDLERS
The Delta State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on crime, announcing significant arrests and recoveries of illicit items in two separate operations. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, in a statement disclosed the Command’s successes against criminal elements in the state.

SP Edafe Bright highlighted that on September 17, 2025, the Ogwashi-Uku Division led by CSP Israel Okomoyon intercepted three suspects – Emmanuel Ibekwe, Victor Chibuzor, and Zakaria Joro – recovering an English pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition. The suspects couldn’t justify possession of the firearm and have been transferred to the State Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation.
In another operation on September 13, 2025, the Delta State Eagle Net Special Squad led by SP Danyaya Yunusa, jointly with Nigeria Hunters Forest Security Service, raided a hotel in Agbor arresting ten suspects including Markwuye Peter, hotel owner. A substantial quantity of illicit drugs was recovered; suspects are in custody with investigations ongoing.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, reiterated the Command’s commitment to safety and security, saying these breakthroughs underscore the renewed operational drive backed by intelligence and community collaboration aimed at restoring peace. Edafe Bright urged public vigilance and support with credible information, assuring swift response. Edafe Bright emphasized the Command’s determination to ensure Delta State’s safety for all residents.
