VIDEO: DELTA POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS FOUR OFFICERS OVER VIRAL VIDEO OF COUNTING BUNDLES OF CASH
The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four police personnel who were filmed counting bundles of cash inside a patrol vehicle in a viral video. The officers, including two senior officers and two inspectors, were immediately identified and apprehended after the video sparked nationwide outrage.

“The policemen in the embarrassing video have been identified and arrested. They appeared before the Commissioner of Police today,” the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, said in a statement.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed the policemen seated in a patrol van, casually counting bundles of money—a scene that generated anger among Nigerians who accused them of extortion and misconduct.
Edafe had earlier assured members of the public that the Command would take decisive action against the erring officers to restore confidence in the police. “The Delta Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding professionalism, accountability, and integrity within its ranks, assuring that disciplinary measures will serve as a deterrent to others,” he added.
The arrested officers are expected to face disciplinary measures for their actions, which have brought the police force into disrepute. The Delta Police Command’s swift action in this matter demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity within its ranks.
