The United States Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, has said Americans currently in Israel have “very limited options” to leave the country, as security concerns continue to disrupt travel routes.

In a lengthy post shared on X, Huckabee stated that the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem is “not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist Americans in departing Israel.”

The ambassador advised U.S. citizens seeking to leave to consider using a bus service operated by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism to Taba, a border town in Egypt. From Taba, travellers may be able to secure flights either locally or travel onward to Cairo International Airport for international departures.

Huckabee cautioned against attempting to exit through Jordan, noting that flights from there are inconsistent and unreliable under the current circumstances.

His remarks underscore the growing travel uncertainty in the region, as escalating tensions continue to affect air travel and border access. While the U.S. government has issued advisories in similar situations in the past, and the ambassador’s statement makes clear that no organized evacuation effort is currently underway for American citizens in Israel.

U.S. nationals in the region have been encouraged to closely monitor official embassy communications and local security updates as the situation develops.
