U.S. Justice Chief Pam Bondi Sacked by Trump Amid Epstein File Controversy
U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed Attorney General Pam Bondi in a sudden cabinet shake-up, marking one of the most significant changes in his administration in recent weeks.
According to multiple international reports, Bondi’s removal follows mounting dissatisfaction within the White House over her handling of key issues; particularly the controversial release of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Sources indicate that Trump had grown increasingly frustrated with what he perceived as a lack of progress in prosecuting his political opponents, as well as criticism from lawmakers over the Justice Department’s conduct under Bondi’s leadership.
Despite the dismissal, Trump publicly praised Bondi as a “loyal friend” and “patriot,” noting her role in crime reduction efforts during her tenure. He added that she would transition to a yet-to-be-announced role in the private sector.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has been appointed as Acting Attorney General, pending the selection of a permanent replacement.
Bondi, in her response, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and confirmed she would oversee a smooth transition over the coming weeks.
Her exit comes amid broader political turbulence within the administration, following the recent dismissal of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and ongoing congressional scrutiny over Justice Department operations.
Analysts say the development signals renewed instability within Trump’s cabinet and could reshape the administration’s legal and political strategy ahead of upcoming legislative battles.
