A former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), High Chief Peter Ameh, has congratulated the leadership of the Labour Party following Tuesday’s Court of Appeal judgment, describing it as a triumph for democracy, internal party discipline, and the rule of law.

In a statement issued after the ruling, Ameh said the appellate court’s decision reaffirmed the importance of due process in the management of political parties in Nigeria.

He extended his congratulations to key figures within the party, including the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, the National Secretary, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, and other members of the Labour Party.

According to him, the judgment reinforces the principle that political parties must operate within their constitutional framework and adhere strictly to established procedures in the conduct of their affairs.

“This ruling is a win for democratic principles and party discipline. By upholding due process and the rule of law, the court has affirmed our party’s dedication to internal democracy and constitutional integrity,” he said.

Ameh further noted that the decision underscores that the administration of party affairs rests with registered members acting through lawful and consensus-driven processes in electing leadership structures.

He added that the judgment strengthens the institutional foundation of the Labour Party and reinforces its commitment to justice, accountability, and democratic representation.

“Today’s decision fortifies our institutional foundations and re-energizes our shared mission to build a Labour Party rooted in justice, accountability, and the genuine will of its people,” he stated.
