At least 12 people were hospitalized after a shooting erupted during a large gathering at a lake near Oklahoma City, authorities and hospital officials confirmed.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening around 9 p.m. at a party near Arcadia Lake in Edmond, a suburb of Oklahoma City, where a group of young people had gathered for an event that was reportedly promoted on social media.

According to police, multiple gunshots were fired during the gathering, prompting panic as attendees fled the scene. Emergency responders transported at least 10 victims to nearby hospitals, while others reportedly arrived on their own seeking treatment.

Hospital officials said nine victims were admitted to Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City and three others were taken to Integris Health Edmond Hospital. All were undergoing evaluation as of Sunday night, with conditions described as varying.

Edmond Police confirmed that no suspects have been arrested so far and said investigators are actively interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence across the metro area. Authorities also noted that there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.

The gathering, described in reports as a “Sunday Funday” event, had drawn a large crowd before the shooting broke out, turning what was meant to be a recreational evening into a scene of chaos and emergency response.

Arcadia Lake, a popular recreational site in the region, is frequently used for camping, boating, and social gatherings, and is located about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City.

The investigation is ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
