Fernandes equals Premier League assist record as Manchester United edge Nottingham Forest 3–2
Bruno Fernandes has etched his name into Premier League history after equalling the single-season assist record in Manchester United’s thrilling 3–2 victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
The United captain registered his 20th assist of the season, drawing level with the all-time record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, as United secured a dramatic win in their final home game of the campaign.
The match delivered another entertaining night for fans, with Luke Shaw opening the scoring early before Forest responded through Morato. United regained control with goals from Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, the latter finishing from Fernandes’ record-equalling delivery.

Forest refused to back down, pulling one back late through Morgan Gibbs-White, but United held firm to seal all three points and continue their strong finish to the season.
Beyond the result, the night belonged to Fernandes, whose creativity has defined United’s campaign under interim manager Michael Carrick. His assist for Mbeumo not only proved decisive but also confirmed his status as one of Europe’s most productive midfielders this season.

United also used the occasion to honour Casemiro, who received an emotional farewell appearance at Old Trafford.
The result strengthens United’s push for a top-three finish and Champions League qualification, while Forest remain safely mid-table after a resilient performance.
