Dr. Nnena Njoku has led a team of investors and partners to the palace of Nigerian billionaire oil mogul Prince Arthur Eze, accompanied by the immediate past governor of the state of Delaware, United States of America. The visit marked a strategic push for closer bilateral business ties between Nigeria and the US, with a focus on rare earth minerals, mining, and solid minerals.
Dr. Susan Nnena Njoku, a renowned real estate developer, businesswoman, philanthropist, and the financial secretary of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria REDAN, hosted the delegation which included Dr. Bethany Hall-Long, who served as Delaware’s Lieutenant Governor beginning in 2017 and became Governor on January 7, 2024 after Governor John Carney resigned to become Mayor of Wilmington. Dr. Bethany Hall-Long stressed the need for deeper collaboration in areas of energy exploration, security, ICT, education, and healthcare. In her statement, she said, “This would be my first international visit out of the United States and I chose to visit Nigeria. I am being hosted by Dr. Nnena and her partners here in Nigeria. I am glad to see that all we read about insecurity in Nigeria is not what it is here on ground, and I will like to ask partners around the world to seek business opportunities in Africa.”

Dr. Nnena Njoku explained the purpose of the IDP camp visit. She said, “My visit here today is to celebrate with the people and also feel their pulse and share their pain.” She encouraged them and shared foodstuffs and gifts with the vulnerable children. She and Dr. Bethany Hall-Long then took a tour around the IDP camp to see firsthand the complaints raised by the people, including poor delivery by women, bad hygiene, and the unconducive environment within the camp.
Dr. Bethany Hall-Long addressed the people and consoled them while she also pledged support for them. She encouraged the government in the war against terrorism and asked them to do more in areas of empowerment for the women in the IDP camp.
