Fire Guts Sections Of Sokoto Central Market, Destroys Shops And Goods
A fire outbreak has destroyed several shops and goods at the Sokoto Central Market, with the value of property lost yet to be determined.
The fire reportedly started at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, sending traders and residents into panic as flames spread through sections of the market.
Firefighters were deployed to the scene and were making efforts to contain the blaze, while residents also joined in efforts to put out the fire and rescue goods from affected shops.
The cause of the fire remained unknown as of the time of filing this report. Authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while the fire was still reportedly burning.
