Cynthia Morgan Fires Back at Jude Okoye Amid Feud with Brothers

Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, now known professionally as Madrina, has reignited her long-running feud with music executive Jude Okoye, publicly accusing her former label boss of being “wicked,” “toxic,” and “divisive” as the highly publicized dispute between Jude and his younger brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye of the defunct music duo P-Square, continues to unfold.

The latest exchange followed Jude Okoye’s public response to allegations made by his younger brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), over the management of the group’s finances and music royalties. The dispute, which has attracted the attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and is currently before the courts, has once again exposed deep divisions within one of Nigeria’s most successful musical families.

Reacting through a post on Instagram, Cynthia Morgan said she had firsthand experience of Jude Okoye’s conduct during her time under his former record label, Northside Entertainment. She alleged that Jude had the ability to manipulate narratives and conceal the truth, insisting that the ongoing legal process may finally reveal what truly transpired in the family dispute.

Morgan described herself as “a living witness” to what she called Jude’s “wickedness,” adding that unlike previous public disagreements, the current conflict is supported by documentary evidence, including chats and emails, making it more difficult for facts to be disputes.

The singer also criticised Jude for suggesting that Peter Okoye’s recent public outbursts were driven by desperation. According to her, such comments reflected what she described as his divisive nature. She argued that Peter’s recent success as a solo artist contradicted claims that his career was declining and maintained that Jude was “not a good human being.”

Morgan’s latest remarks revive a dispute that first became public in 2020, when she accused Jude Okoye of mishandling her music career following her exit from Northside Entertainment. At the time, she alleged that she lost control of her stage name, social media accounts, VEVO channel, and music royalties after disagreements over her recording contract. Jude denied wrongdoing, insisting that all agreements were contractual.

The renewed criticism comes as Jude Okoye continues to defend himself against allegations made by Peter Okoye concerning the management of P-Square’s earnings. Peter has accused his elder brother of financial misconduct involving royalty payments and company accounts, allegations Jude has strongly denied. Jude maintains that all transactions were conducted legally and says the matter is already before the courts after investigations by the EFCC.

The public fallout has reignited conversations across Nigeria’s entertainment industry about artist-management relationships, contract transparency, and financial accountability within family-run businesses. Fans and industry observers have continued to express concern over the prolonged conflict, which has overshadowed the legacy of P-Square and drawn former associates, including Cynthia Morgan, back into the spotlight.
