Super Falcons Defender Chidinma Okeke Completes Move to Napoli Women on Two-Year Deal

Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke has completed a permanent transfer to Italian Serie A Women side Napoli, signing a two-year contract with the Partenopei.

The 26-year-old centre-back joins Napoli from Mexican club América Femenil, where she spent two seasons and helped the team win the CONCACAF Champions Cup in the 2025/26 season.

Okeke expressed her delight after arriving in Italy and meeting her new teammates and coaching staff.

“I’m happy with my first few days here. I’ve met the coach, the staff, and my teammates, and it’s been fantastic,” Okeke told Napoli’s official website.

She also outlined her ambition for the upcoming campaign. “My goal for this season? To give my all together with the team,” she added.

Okeke, who can also operate as a full-back, began her professional career with Madrid CFF in Spain in 2019.

She later played for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Israel and Mynavi Sendai Ladies in Japan before moving to Mexico in 2024.

Her move to Napoli represents a return to European football after her spell in Liga MX Femenil.

Napoli confirmed the signing as they strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Serie A Women season, with the club scheduled to begin their campaign against Juventus on September 26.

At international level, Okeke has represented Nigeria at multiple tournaments, including the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
