Independence: Enang Tasks Nigerians Abroad With Projecting Nigeria’s Image

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Senator Ita Solomon Enang, OFR, has urged Nigerians at home and abroad to use the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary to promote Nigeria’s image, achievements and potential before the international community.

Enang made the call in an Independence Day message from the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, where he encouraged Nigerians in Germany and other parts of the world to celebrate the country’s journey while projecting confidence in its future.

The ambassador said his interactions with Germans, Europeans and other international stakeholders since assuming office had reinforced his belief that Nigeria and Nigerians were viewed positively abroad.

“I am very proud of being a Nigerian. I am very proud of being Ambassador of Nigeria to Germany because the interactions I have had since I came here has been that of a beautiful story for Nigeria,” Enang said.

He, however, said Nigerians could do more to tell Nigeria’s story internationally, particularly by highlighting the country’s achievements, human capital and investment opportunities.

Enang also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for what he described as efforts to reposition the Nigerian economy, urging citizens to appreciate the difficult economic decisions being taken by the government.

According to him, the measures were creating conditions for increased investment and economic activity, citing developments in Nigeria’s refining sector as an indication of growing private sector participation.

He added that Nigerian investors were also expanding their businesses beyond the country, including establishing refineries and other ventures in other African countries.

The ambassador called on Nigerians to remain committed to the country’s development and to project its interests positively wherever they live.

“Nigerians, be proud of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, be proud of the Federal Government of Nigeria,” he said.

Enang congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the 66th Independence Anniversary and urged them to continue to identify with the country and fly the Nigerian flag with pride.
