Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about months of severe pain and mobility challenges, revealing that her condition at some point left her dependent on a wheelchair.

Daniels disclosed this in a video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday to mark her 25th birthday, while explaining her prolonged absence from social media.

The mother of two said what initially appeared to be a minor health issue gradually worsened, leaving her struggling to move around and, at times, unable to walk.

“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.

The actress explained that she had lost the freedom to move around as she pleased over the past few months, adding that her condition took a turn for the worse after a children’s carnival she hosted.

“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she said.

Daniels added that the pain became increasingly unbearable as she underwent a series of medical tests to determine the nature of her condition.

“The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” she said.

Despite the difficulties, the actress expressed gratitude for what she described as significant progress in her recovery, saying she was gradually getting better.

She credited her faith in God with helping her navigate the challenging period and expressed hope for healing and peace.

Daniels also spoke about the emotional strain of her condition, particularly the loss of independence and the need to rely on others for assistance with everyday activities.

Explaining her decision to speak publicly about her experience, she said recent developments in her recovery had encouraged her to share her story with fans and well-wishers.

“Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord,” she said.

The actress also disclosed that she had moved closer to her loved ones, particularly her children, whom she described as very important to her.

She explained that she initially rented the property but later developed a desire to own it after moving in.

Daniels married businessman and politician Ned Nwoko in 2019, and the couple have two children. Their relationship has since been marked by a public and contentious separation.

The actress’s disclosure has offered fans a glimpse into the personal health challenges she has faced in recent months, although she did not publicly specify the medical condition responsible for her symptoms.
