Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has signed five bills into law, including the Thirteenth Month Salary Law, 2026, aimed at improving workers’ welfare and boosting productivity.

The governor signed the bills at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Asaba, describing the development as part of his administration’s commitment to implementing impactful reforms under its MORE Agenda.

The five laws are the Delta State Revenue Service (Consolidation) Law, 2026; the Thirteenth Month Salary Law, 2026; the Public and Private Properties Protection (Amendment) Law; the High Court Law; and the Customary Court of Appeal Law (Amendment).

Oborevwori said the Thirteenth Month Salary Law was designed to improve workers’ morale, recognise their contributions to the state’s development and enhance productivity.

He expressed his administration’s commitment to policies that promote good governance and improve the welfare of residents.

Presenting the bills for the governor’s assent, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, said the legislation was passed in the interest of the people and the overall development of the state.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by representatives of the judiciary and the Ministry of Justice.

The enactment of the five laws marks another legislative development under the Oborevwori administration, with the Thirteenth Month Salary Law focusing particularly on workers’ welfare.
