Ebienfa Honoured as Media Diplomat of the Year at Bayelsa Media Awards
Former spokesperson of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, has been named Media Diplomat of the Year at the 13th edition of the Bayelsa Media Awards.
The award was presented on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in recognition of Ebienfa’s contributions to media relations, public communication and Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement.
Ebienfa, who served as a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was recognised for his work in communicating Nigeria’s foreign policy positions and providing information on the country’s diplomatic activities.
He was represented at the ceremony by his foster son, Woyengiowoi Precious Michael, who received the award on his behalf.
The Bayelsa Media Awards celebrates individuals and organisations whose work has contributed to journalism, public communication and media development.
Ebienfa’s recognition highlights the role of effective communication in diplomacy, particularly in explaining government policies, addressing public concerns and strengthening understanding of Nigeria’s international relations.
