Governor Oborevwori Hails Olu of Warri, Says Reign Has Restored Glory and Promotes Peace
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared that the five-year reign of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, has been a period of restored glory and significant progress for the Itsekiri nation and the entire state.
The governor made this known during the monarch’s fifth coronation anniversary celebration at his palace in Warri.
Governor Oborevwori praised the Olu for his exceptional leadership, describing him as a cerebral monarch, a peace-builder, and a man of grace who leads from the front.
He also commended the king for his dedication to peace and for being a bridge-builder among the various ethnic groups in the region.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori particularly lauded the monarch’s support for his administration, noting the Olu’s involvement in development projects such as the Ode-Itsekiri Road.
The governor also highlighted the monarch’s role in promoting peace, stating, “Ogiame I commend you. You went round, visited the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh who is here today. You are a man of peace”.
The governor used the occasion to appeal to all ethnic nationalities in Warri to maintain the peace and unity that have characterized their coexistence for decades.

He urged residents to avoid inflammatory statements and divisive tendencies that could threaten stability.
The coronation anniversary was a grand event attended by several notable dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.
The Olu of Warri, in his response, expressed gratitude to God and all the attendees for their support.
