IRAN VOWS TO CONTINUE NUCLEAR PROGRAMME DESPITE ATTACKS – AYATOLLAH KHAMENEI

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has declared that Iran will neither surrender nor abandon its nuclear programme, despite recent attacks on its nuclear facilities. In his first broadcast to Iranians since the attacks, Khamenei described Iran as a strong nation of resilient people, drawing on the country’s historic legacy.

“Any calls for Iran to surrender represent a mockery,” Khamenei said, adding that Iran had attained a comprehensive victory in its war with Israel and dealt a “big slap on the face of America”. He dismissed claims by America and Israel that the nuclear facilities had been severely damaged, describing them as “exaggerated and unrealistic”.

According to Khamenei, not only had the nuclear facilities not been destroyed, but Iran would sustain its nuclear programme. He commended Iran’s military and citizens for their unity and resistance against Israel and America, which he accused of having “evil and illegal intentions”.

The Ayatollah also claimed that America had to intervene in the war to save Israel from military humiliation at the hands of Iran. Khamenei’s statement underscores Iran’s determination to continue its nuclear programme, despite international pressure and recent attacks on its facilities.
