LAGOS POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED CULT LEADER OVER MURDER OF DISC JOCKEY

The Lagos Police Command has arrested Christian Chukwudi, alias “Marshal General”, a suspected cult leader, in connection with the brutal murder of a Disc Jockey (DJ), Victor Dickson, 32, in the Abule-Ado area of the state.

According to the police, Dickson was performing on stage at a hotel along Community Road on Saturday night when armed assailants, suspected to be cult members, stormed the venue, shooting and macheting him before fleeing the scene. The attack caused panic among guests, prompting a distress call to the police.

Responding to the call, police officers pursued the assailants, who fled through FESTAC Town. Chukwudi was eventually arrested with the help of FESTAC vigilantes while attempting to escape. A locally made shotgun and a live cartridge were recovered from the suspect, according to Lagos Police Spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

In a separate operation, police officers from Iju Division arrested another suspected cultist, Ibrahim Toheeb, 26, alias “Baales”, at Fagba Junction around 7 a.m. on Saturday. Toheeb, who had been on the police wanted list for cult-related killings, was caught with wraps of suspected drugs.

Hundeyin assured the public that investigations are ongoing and necessary legal actions will be taken against the suspects. “Investigations are ongoing, and we will take necessary legal actions against the suspects,” he said.
