The Nigeria Police Force has declared three individuals wanted over alleged involvement in cyberbullying and cyberstalking, in what authorities describe as an intensified crackdown on digital offences.

The notices, issued through the INTERPOL unit of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, identified the suspects as Emeana Ubanna Ifunanya Chukwu, Egbuchere Fortunate Chieme, and Nnomere Innocent Odinakachi.

According to police bulletins, the suspects are being sought for alleged roles in online harassment, intimidation, and other cyber-enabled abuses, which authorities say are on the rise across digital platforms.

Chukwu, 39, was last traced to Imo State, with possible links to Canada. Chieme, 43, a businessman, is reportedly based in Houston, Texas, United States, while Odinakachi, 66, is said to have last resided in Vietnam—highlighting the transnational scope of the investigation.

The police indicated that the offences fall under Nigeria’s cybercrime laws aimed at protecting individuals from online abuse and reputational harm. While details of specific incidents were not disclosed, officials noted that the issuance of gazette bulletins suggests an advanced stage of investigation.

Authorities have called on members of the public to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, warning that harbouring wanted persons constitutes a criminal offence.

Security experts say the case underscores the growing cross-border nature of cybercrime, with perpetrators often operating across jurisdictions. Nigeria has in recent years strengthened collaboration with international policing bodies, including INTERPOL, to tackle such offences.

The development has drawn mixed reactions, with some observers calling for greater transparency, while others view the move as a necessary step to curb online abuse.
