The Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team have concluded an inspection tour of major federal infrastructure projects across Nigeria’s North-West region, describing the developments as clear evidence of sustained government investment in the zone.

The tour covered key projects in Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, and Kebbi states amid growing public concerns over infrastructure and development in Northern Nigeria.

According to Tunde Rahman, Director of Media and Publicity for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the delegation inspected several strategic projects, including sections of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, the Kaduna Western Bypass, and the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway corridor linking Nigeria with the Niger Republic.

Rahman stated that the North-West currently hosts 48 federal intervention projects under construction, which he described as the highest number recorded in any geopolitical zone in the country.

The delegation also visited irrigation and agricultural projects in Kano State as well as portions of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway in Kebbi State.

Officials involved in the tour said the projects are at varying stages of completion and are expected to improve transportation, agricultural productivity, regional trade, and economic connectivity across the North-West and adjoining regions.

They added that the projects align with the Federal Government’s broader infrastructure and economic development agenda under the Renewed Hope programme.

The team noted that improved road and rail connectivity would significantly ease movement of goods and people, strengthen commercial activities, and support cross-border trade within the sub-region.

The inspection comes as the Federal Government continues to defend its infrastructure spending pattern amid debates over equitable project distribution across the country.
