RENEWED MOMENTUM AS NIGERIA INAUGURATES SPORTS FEDERATION PRESIDENTS

In a significant step toward revitalizing Nigeria’s sports administration, newly elected presidents of various sporting federations were officially inaugurated by Mr. Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission. The ceremony, which marks the beginning of a new chapter in the nation’s sports governance, emphasized strategic innovation, institutional accountability, and athlete development across all disciplines.

Among the newly inaugurated leaders are Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu, who now heads the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, and Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Ochei, the new President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation. In his inaugural address, Dr. Dunkwu outlined his vision for the Aquatics Federation, stating, “I pledge to enhance technical capacity, revitalize infrastructure, and establish stronger international collaborations aimed at improving Nigeria’s global competitiveness in aquatic sports.”

Chairman Shehu Dikko charged the new leaders to uphold high standards in their roles, saying, “You must uphold integrity, professionalism, and inclusivity in the discharge of your duties, aligning your goals with the Federal Government’s vision for sporting excellence and youth empowerment.” The inauguration underscores the government’s commitment to transforming the nation’s sports landscape, with the new leadership expected to deliver tangible results and inspire renewed confidence in Nigeria’s sporting future.
