The teenagers made Nigeria proud by winning top spots in the competition, with 17-year-old Nafisa being named the overall best in English language skills, 15-year-old Rukayya emerging as the overall best in debate, and Hadiza bagging the outstanding talent award (gold medal).

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, in a statement, said Speaker Abbas described the teenagers as “super talents” who have brought pride to Nigeria. Krishi noted that the Speaker believes that with the enabling environment, Nigerians will continue to break barriers and excel in different fields of endeavor anywhere in the world.

The Speaker’s commendation comes on the heels of other notable wins by Nigerian teams, including the D’Tigress’ victory in the 2025 FIBA Afrobasket and the Super Falcons’ lifting of the WAFCON. Speaker Abbas stated that these wins have further established his belief in the girl child and his campaign for gender inclusion in politics and administration. “With their excellent performance at the contest, coming after the D’Tigress won the 2025 FIBA Afrobasket and the Super Falcons’ lifting of the WAFCON, my belief in the girl child and campaign for gender inclusion in politics and administration of the country has been further established,” he said.
Krishi further stated that Speaker Abbas restated his commitment to the development of the education sector, stressing the importance of basic education in laying a solid foundation for the young ones. “While congratulating Hadiza, Nafisa, and Rukayya, Speaker Abbas called for proper recognition of academic talents, stressing that a reward system should be created for Nigerians who attract positive global attention to their country,” Krishi added.
