Turkey’s intelligence agency has captured 10 suspected Islamic State (ISIS) militants during an operation in Syria, according to Turkish security sources cited by state media on Saturday.

The operation was reportedly carried out by Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) in coordination with Syrian intelligence authorities. The suspects were later transferred to Turkey for further investigation and prosecution.

According to reports, all 10 suspects are Turkish nationals and are believed to have links to previous terrorist attacks in Turkey. One of the detainees was said to have connections to those responsible for the deadly 2015 Ankara train station bombing that killed more than 100 people.

Security sources also claimed that another suspect had allegedly served as an intelligence operative for ISIS activities targeting Turkey. The suspects are accused of participating in armed training, propaganda activities, and planning or supporting attacks linked to the extremist group.

Turkey has intensified its counterterrorism operations against ISIS and other militant groups in recent years, particularly along its border with Syria. Ankara considers ISIS a major national security threat following several deadly attacks carried out in Turkish cities over the past decade.
