A multiple-vehicle crash involving two articulated trucks and a private car caused heavy traffic congestion along the Gbagada Expressway in Lagos on Monday.

The accident occurred near the TREM area inward Gbagada, prompting an immediate response from emergency and traffic management officials.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said its officers were swiftly deployed to the scene to coordinate rescue and recovery efforts while working to restore the free flow of traffic.

According to the agency, a tow truck was mobilised to evacuate the damaged vehicles, while its Rescue and Recovery Unit managed traffic around the accident scene to minimise disruption.

Recovery operations were still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.

Motorists travelling along the route were advised to exercise caution, obey traffic officials and expect delays until the affected vehicles are completely cleared from the roadway.

There was no immediate report of casualties or injuries, while the cause of the crash had yet to be disclosed by authorities.

Traffic officials urged road users to remain patient as efforts continue to reopen the affected section of the expressway to normal vehicular movement.
