NUJ Osun Council Marks 35th Anniversary With Annual Health Walk for Journalists

The Health Walk Committee of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, will tomorrow hold its annual health walk as part of activities marking the NUJ Osun Council @35 anniversary.

The health walk is aimed at promoting the health and well-being of journalists in the state.

A statement by the Chairperson of the Health Walk Committee, Comrade Wumi Olaniyi, and Secretary Comrade Rafiu Agboola indicated that participants will commence the walk from the NUJ Press Centre, beside the Technical College, Osogbo, through Capital Estate and Dada Estate to Dele Yes Sir, before returning to the Press Centre.

The statement added that notable personalities expected at the event include the Executive Secretary of the Osun State Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), Dr. Rasaq Akindele; Hon. Ibrahim Taofeek Kayode (ITK), a candidate for the Osogbo/Olorunda/Orolu/Irepodun Federal Constituency; and other top government functionaries.

It further stated that the health walk, sponsored by Moniepoint, ITK and OSHIS, will feature the Moniepoint State Coordinator, Pastor Olufemi Olaniyan, who will lead his team in opening free bank accounts for interested union members and issuing ATM cards at no cost after the exercise.

The statement therefore enjoined all members of the union to converge at the Press Centre by 7:00 a.m. for a briefing before the commencement of the walk.
