The Peoples Democratic Party has condemned a recent Federal High Court judgment, labeling it an assault on Nigeria’s democratic process. The party made this known in a statement dated October 31, 2025.

In a statement, National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba said the PDP is appalled by the judgement from Justice Kolawole Omotosho. However, Ologunagba stated that the court’s decision does not prevent the party from continuing with preparations for its National Convention, where new National Officers will be elected.

The party cited a recent Supreme Court judgment which affirms the supremacy of a political party in managing its internal affairs. Ologunagba charged all PDP members, chapters, and organs to remain focused on the convention preparations.

Despite its criticism of the ruling, the PDP has directed its lawyers to immediately appeal the judgment. The party reaffirmed its commitment to multi-party democracy and the rule of law in its unwavering determination.
