FCT Police Debunk Alleged Bandit Threat to Kungaboku, Paze Communities

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports of an impending attack by suspected bandits on Kungaboku and neighbouring Paze communities, describing the circulating letter as a hoax designed to cause panic.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the Command said the letter, reportedly delivered through a student of a private school, claimed that bandits were planning retaliation after the neutralisation of their commander in a recent joint operation by the Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the 7 Guards Battalion of the Guards Brigade.

“The investigation revealed that the letter did not originate from any bandit group. It is the work of individuals seeking to instill fear in residents,” the statement said.

Residents of Kungaboku, Paze, and surrounding communities have been urged to disregard the message, stay calm, and maintain vigilance. Police personnel have been deployed to the areas to prevent any possible security incidents and reassure the public.
