Ghanaian footballer Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to two additional rape charges at a court in the United Kingdom, further expanding an already complex legal case against the midfielder.

Partey, 32, appeared before Southwark Crown Court in London on Monday, where he denied the latest allegations, which relate to an incident said to have occurred in December 2020 involving a fourth complainant.

The new charges come on top of previous allegations filed in 2025, including five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault involving a third woman. Partey has consistently denied all accusations.

With the latest development, the former Arsenal midfielder now faces a total of seven rape charges and one sexual assault charge linked to four different women.

The court agreed that all charges would be tried together in a single trial. However, the expansion of the case may lead to delays, with proceedings initially expected to begin later this year now likely to be pushed back.

Partey, who currently plays for Spanish club Villarreal after leaving Arsenal in 2025, has been granted bail pending trial, under conditions including no contact with the complainants.

The case is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in May, where the court is expected to determine a definitive timeline for the full trial.
