Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Sallah Holiday, Strategic Meetings in Lagos
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending the Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he combined festive activities with a series of high-level political and state engagements.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 5:17 p.m. on Tuesday and was received by senior government officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and the Inspector-General of Police.
During the holiday period, Tinubu hosted several prominent visitors who paid him Sallah homage, among them Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and members of the Senate leadership, state governors, and leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President also participated in events marking the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy, where he reviewed naval operations and commissioned three newly acquired vessels aimed at boosting maritime security and safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial waters.
In a diplomatic engagement, Tinubu received the newly inaugurated President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni, who visited Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and regional cooperation between the two West African neighbours.
The Lagos engagements underscored the administration’s focus on governance, national security, regional diplomacy, and political consultations ahead of the resumption of full official activities in Abuja.
