APC Sets Up National Campaign Council Ahead of Ekiti Governorship Election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to formally inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the crucial poll.
The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Kashim Shettima Hall of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja at 12 noon.
According to a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the campaign council will be chaired by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio will serve as Co-Chairman. Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele will act as Secretary of the council.
The council comprises serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other senior party stakeholders. It has been tasked with coordinating and driving the party’s campaign activities ahead of the Ekiti governorship election.
To ensure an effective campaign structure, the APC has established several subcommittees responsible for key areas including election planning and management, finance and resource mobilization, grassroots engagement, logistics, protocol, media and publicity, security, women’s mobilization, youth mobilization, and secretariat operations.
The party described the inauguration as a major step in its preparations for the election, noting that it will kick-start extensive mobilization efforts across Ekiti State aimed at securing victory at the polls.
The event is expected to bring together top APC leaders from across the country as the party begins its campaign activities in earnest ahead of the governorship contest.
