Leaked Documents Reveal Alleged Coup Plot Blueprint, Coded Communications, Target List

Fresh details have emerged from investigative documents detailing the alleged operational blueprint of a failed coup plot involving six military officers currently standing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The documents, reviewed by Premium Times, outline what investigators described as a carefully coordinated plan allegedly aimed at overthrowing the administration of President Bola Tinubu through coded communications, designated targets, troop mobilisation and a proposed execution timeline.

According to the documents, the accused officers allegedly adopted agricultural terms as code words to disguise discussions about the planned operation. The conspirators reportedly referred to themselves as “Farmers,” while the overall mission was described as “Farming.”

Other code names allegedly used included “Fertilisers” for logistics, “Harvest” for the day of execution, and “Digital Farming” to describe the operation itself.

The documents further claimed that “Technical Partners” referred to clerics allegedly approached to offer prayers in support of the operation, while “D-Day” and “H-Hour” denoted the planned date and time of execution.

Investigators also identified a number of strategic locations allegedly earmarked as operational targets. These included the Presidential Villa, the Federal Radio House in Abuja, the residences of the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Staff, the Air House, the 102 Battalion in Zuma, Niger State, the Niger Barracks gate in Abuja, and a divisional headquarters in Lagos.

The alleged plan also reportedly involved disrupting flight operations at the Abuja and Lagos international airports during the operation.

According to the investigative documents, the alleged conspirators intended to mobilise troops and military equipment from several formations, including battalions in Bida, the North-East and a naval unit.

Investigators said the alleged coordinator informed them that the availability of personnel and equipment would determine the final date for the operation.

The documents indicated that three dates—September 27, October 1 and October 4, 2025—featured prominently during planning, with the proposed strike window set between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.

However, investigators maintained that no final execution date was agreed upon because preparations had not been completed before the alleged plot was uncovered.

The documents emphasised that the allegations are based on statements attributed to the accused officers during the investigation and have not been proven in court.

The six defendants are facing a 13-count charge over the alleged coup plot and have challenged the admissibility of their statements. The Federal High Court in Abuja is yet to rule on the matter, and the case remains pending.

The allegations have not been judicially determined.
