Nigerian dancer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has denied allegations of sexual offences against him in the United Kingdom, insisting that he knows he is innocent.

The entertainer made his position known during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the recording on Instagram on Sunday.

Poco Lee said he remained calm during his ordeal because he was convinced he had not committed the offences alleged against him. He said his major concern was the effect of the situation on his associates and their business activities.

He also acknowledged the support of Nigerian singer Burna Boy, Rahman Jago and other associates during the period.

His comments come amid conflicting reports circulating online about the status of his case, including claims that he had been released from custody and that the complainant had withdrawn the allegations.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active, with Odinaka scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on Tuesday, September 15, for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing.

The CPS also confirmed the hearing but declined to disclose whether the entertainer was currently in custody or had been granted bail.

Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges, comprising attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. The case reportedly arose from his visit to the United Kingdom for the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.

The court has imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant under the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
