The Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists has partnered with Zamkah Technologies to equip small business owners with the skills and connections needed to transform their enterprises into globally competitive brands.

The initiative will take centre stage at NASSI’s 35th National Convention scheduled for December 1, 2026, in Abuja, where entrepreneurs will explore business partnerships and strategies for expansion beyond the domestic economy.

NASSI National President, Chief Solomon Daniel Vongfa, said the convention was designed to help small business owners exchange ideas and build strategic alliances capable of strengthening Nigeria’s economy.

“The convention is a deliberate platform to interact with small business owners, cross-fertilise ideas and identify areas of collaboration that can strengthen the economy and reduce overdependence on government,” Vongfa said.

He emphasised that Nigeria’s economic strength depended partly on its ability to expand domestic production and improve product quality, adding that the engagement would provide opportunities for training programmes, workshops and business seminars.

“As an organisation with the key function of advocating government policies that make it easier to run a small business in Nigeria, the convention would explore possible avenues for business models that suit businesses and make them competitive,” he stated.

Vongfa identified access to finance, improved product quality and entrepreneurial skills as critical requirements for building businesses that can compete beyond Nigeria’s borders.

The NASSI president said the association would continue to organise trade fairs and exhibitions to showcase locally made products and connect producers with potential buyers, noting that these efforts aligned with the government’s emphasis on domestic production.

“We are determined to see that Nigeria remains not only the giant of Africa on paper but in reality. For us to truly merit it, we must double our efforts on domestic production, the quality of products and also ensure that entrepreneurs have access to financing and are mentally equipped,” Vongfa said.

Founded in 1978, NASSI is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting micro, small and medium-scale enterprises across Nigeria, with partnerships including the Bank of Industry to improve access to funding for its members.
