Defence Minister Hosts Brother of Late Brig. Gen. Oseni Braimah, Reaffirms Commitment to Families of Fallen Heroes
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), OFR, has hosted Mr. Hassan Braimah, the brother of the late Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah, at the Ministry of Defence in Abuja. The meeting was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Honourable Minister, Leah Babatunde.

Brigadier General Braimah, a distinguished Infantry Officer of the Nigerian Army, died in the line of duty at Benisheikh on 9th April 2026. At the time of his passing, he was Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade. He was laid to rest with full military honours at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery, Maiduguri, on 15th April 2026, alongside seven other personnel who died in service.
During the visit, Mr. Hassan Braimah shared poignant memories of his brother as a dedicated officer committed to the service of the nation. He expressed pride in the General’s sacrifice and assured the Minister of the family’s resolve to support the loved ones left behind.
Responding with deep empathy, General Christopher Gwabin Musa extended the condolences of the Ministry and the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the Braimah family. He reaffirmed that the Ministry maintains an open-door policy and provides continuous support to families of fallen heroes.
“The Armed Forces will never abandon the families of those who lay down their lives for this country,” General Musa stated. “We remain committed to providing assistance, care, and direct access to the Ministry whenever needed.”
Leah Babatunde further noted that the visit underscored the nation’s enduring gratitude for the sacrifices of its military personnel and the Ministry’s resolve to uphold their legacy by supporting their families. General Musa also reiterated the Ministry’s open-door policy, while Leah Babatunde confirmed that the family had direct access to the Ministry. Leah Babatunde added that continuous support remains a top priority.
