Security Breakthrough as Police Uncover Ammo in Gombe Cemetery, Nab Hotel Robbery Gang in Edo
Police authorities have recorded two separate security breakthroughs in Gombe and Edo States, including the discovery of ammunition concealed near a cemetery and the arrest of suspected armed robbers in a hotel operation.
In Gombe State, operatives reportedly uncovered a cache of ammunition hidden in a bushy area close to a cemetery, following intelligence-led surveillance operations. Security sources said the discovery was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal arms storage and trafficking within the state. The recovered ammunition has been taken into custody for forensic analysis, while efforts are underway to track those responsible for concealing the weapons.
In a separate operation in Edo State, police officers stormed a hotel suspected to be a hideout for an armed robbery gang. Several suspects were arrested during the raid, with authorities recovering items believed to be linked to recent robbery incidents in parts of the state. The suspects are currently being interrogated as investigations continue into their alleged criminal activities and possible networks.
Police authorities say both operations form part of intensified nationwide efforts to curb violent crime, illegal arms circulation, and organized robbery syndicates. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies.
