President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the economic reforms introduced by his administration are beginning to yield positive results, declaring that the country has emerged from difficult times into a period of renewed hope and stability.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message released on Tuesday, the President congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the celebration, describing the festival as a reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, faith, obedience, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

Tinubu said the sacrifices made by Nigerians and his administration over the past three years had helped stabilise the economy and reposition the country as a preferred destination for investment.

“Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth,” the President stated.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here.”

The President acknowledged that although the reforms had come with challenges, they were necessary to secure a stronger and more prosperous future for the country.

He also expressed confidence that ongoing reforms would continue to improve national security and create greater opportunities for Nigerians.

Speaking on insecurity, Tinubu said his administration remained committed to defeating terrorism and banditry across the country.

He noted that despite recent successes recorded by security agencies, including the reported elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, some communities were still under attack by terrorists and bandits.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.

The President called on Muslims to use the Eid celebration to pray for Nigeria, peace, and wisdom for leaders at all levels.

He also urged Nigerians to show compassion to the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of unity and brotherhood across ethnic and religious lines.

According to him, one of the central lessons of Eid-el-Kabir is the need to demonstrate mercy and compassion irrespective of race, ethnicity, or creed.

Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful and secure Nigeria where citizens could freely worship and pursue their aspirations without fear.

He added that the government would continue investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to unlock the country’s full potential.

The President concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah would accept their sacrifices and continue to bless Nigeria.
