The Lagos State Government has intensified its enforcement against environmental violations, sealing Pinnock Beach Estate in the Osapa London area of Lekki alongside three other properties across the state over the alleged illegal discharge of untreated sewage into public drains and canals.

The enforcement operation was carried out on Thursday, May 7, 2026, by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office following what the agency described as repeated warnings and abatement notices issued to the affected facilities.

Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the enforcement action via his official X handle, stating that Pinnock Beach Estate was sealed for allegedly pumping untreated sewage into a canal, causing environmental pollution, offensive odour, and health risks to residents and aquatic life.

After several warnings and abatement notices, the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office, on Thursday 7th May, 2026, sealed-off Pinnock Beach Estate, Osapa London, Lekki, Lagos, over deliberate discharge of untreated sewage via pumping machine into the canal causing environmental nuisance, offensive odour, as well as endangering human health and aquatic life, Wahab said.

A property located at Number 28 Amodu Street in Itire, Surulere, was also sealed following verified complaints from residents over the continuous discharge of raw sewage into a neighbouring compound and public drainage channels, an act the agency described as a serious environmental and health hazard capable of exposing residents to disease outbreaks.

In Ajah, another property situated on Oladipo Dumoye Street within Mashy Hill Estate along Ado Road in the Eti-Osa area was sealed for allegedly discharging untreated sewage into public drains, resulting in environmental nuisance, drainage blockage, and pollution . Similarly, Vintage Heights Estate on Ojulari Street in Elegushi, Lekki, was shut down over the alleged pumping of untreated sewage into drainage systems and the indiscriminate discharge of raw sewage into the surrounding environment.
