NOW THAT THE MONSOON RAINS ARE HERE: LEADERSHIP NEED TO BE MORE PRAGMATIC

This is the period of myriad of challenges, worries and adversity from natural disasters and other environmental problems.

Over the years, flooding crisis that have humbled and shredded the nation come from diverse sources and have taken time to entrench.

Therefore government need time and rigour to address and surmount.
This is because in climate justice as currently being witnessed, populism of predictions is helped when it is armed with realism.

Consequently, government owes the citizens arrears of justice. Finding solutions to Nigeria flooding disasters should no longer be ceremonial but redemptive and the distance and barriers between government and humanity should collapse.

This is critically required to restore confidence in the management of flooding. Government need to be more than an administrator, leadership need to be listening, building, reconciling above all a servant of justice because disasters need government not just to argue with facts but with hearts.

Government should not only be confronting pains during disaster but transforming it.
In the period of uncertainty and crisis, government should choose path not of convenience but of conscience, one that trade applause for action, popularity for purpose and power for science.

In climate change hour of need, love should find form in policy, healing should find shapes in homes since
governance is not a reward but a responsibility.

The imperative that will create the solution to Nigeria climate crisis is available for any member of budding community but must find original voice and find consistency of message.
