The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed the unveiling and inauguration of its National Campaign Council by six days, citing the tight schedule of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The inauguration, initially scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, will now take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.

In a statement, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said the postponement was necessitated by Obi’s “very tight schedule” and an important engagement overseas.

The party apologised for any inconvenience caused by the change and urged its members, supporters and stakeholders to remain focused on its electoral objectives.

It also called on party faithful to sustain their commitment to securing victory for Obi and other NDC candidates in the forthcoming presidential and general elections.

The inauguration is expected to mark a key step in the party’s preparations for the elections, as it moves to organise its campaign structure and mobilise support for its candidates.
