Nigeria’s Envoy to Kenya Presents Credentials to Somali President

Nigeria’s High Commissioner-Designate to Kenya, with concurrent accreditation to Somalia, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, has presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu.

The development was disclosed by Oluwafemi Timothy Adeniyi, Spokesperson of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Ibrahim conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to President Mohamud.

He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Somalia and expressed the country’s readiness to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Nigerian envoy highlighted security and counter-terrorism, trade and investment, education, diaspora management and culture as key areas where both countries could deepen collaboration.

The presentation of credentials formally marks Ambassador Ibrahim’s diplomatic engagement with Somalia as Nigeria’s accredited envoy and is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Nigeria and Somalia have maintained diplomatic relations and share common interests in promoting peace, security, economic cooperation and development across Africa.
