Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga, announced the appointments in a statement on August 11, 2025. Onanuga said the President renewed the appointment of Lawal Ya’u Roni, Abubakar Atiku Bunu, and Eludayo Eluyemi, representing Jigawa, Kebbi, and Osun States, for a second term.

The President also appointed 31 new commissioners to the Federal Character Commission, representing various states across the country. The new commissioners include Hon. Obina Oriaku from Abia, Mrs. Bema Olvadi Madayi from Adamawa, and Obongawan Dora Ebong from Akwa Ibom, among others.
