Real Madrid Thrash Rayo Vallecano 4–1 as Mbappé Scores Twice

Real Madrid returned to winning ways in LaLiga with a commanding 4–1 victory over Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday.

Kylian Mbappé was the star of the night, scoring twice as Real Madrid produced a dominant first-half performance before holding off a brief Rayo comeback after the break. The victory moved Real Madrid to 12 points from their opening five league matches.

Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute after Álvaro Carreras was brought down inside the box. The French forward then turned provider three minutes later, setting up Carreras, who fired Real Madrid into a 2–0 lead.

Jude Bellingham added a third goal in the 35th minute after combining with Vinicius Junior, giving Real Madrid a commanding advantage before half-time.

Rayo Vallecano responded after the interval when Sergio Camello pulled one goal back in the 51st minute. The visitors showed greater attacking intent in the second half and created moments of pressure around the Madrid penalty area.

Real Madrid, however, remained in control and eventually restored their three-goal advantage in stoppage time when Mbappé found the net again to complete his brace. The goal took his league tally to six for the season.

The victory keeps Real Madrid unbeaten in the league and maintains their strong start under manager José Mourinho. They are currently second in the table, level on 12 points with leaders Barcelona, who still have a game in hand.

For Rayo Vallecano, the defeat leaves them with four points from five matches and extends their difficult start to the campaign.

Real Madrid will now turn their attention to their next LaLiga fixture against Elche as they look to maintain pressure at the top of the table.
