Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Tunji Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu, describing the elevation as a reward for years of dedication and exemplary service.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the governor said Disu’s appointment reflects his longstanding commitment to professionalism and discipline within the Nigeria Police Force.
Sanwo-Olu noted that Disu’s impact was strongly felt in Lagos during his tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, where he demonstrated firm leadership and a deep understanding of security challenges at the grassroots level.
According to the governor, the new Acting IGP possesses the competence and character required to steer the police force at a critical time when the country seeks improved accountability and operational efficiency in law enforcement.
He expressed confidence that Disu would replicate his past successes on the national stage and wished him success in his new role.
