President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Saturday visit Ogun State to commission and inspect a series of major infrastructure projects, underscoring the state’s drive toward economic growth and modernization.

The visit, detailed in a statement by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, is expected to spotlight key investments across aviation, transportation, agriculture, and security.

A major highlight of the trip is the inauguration of the Gateway International Airport, Iperu, a flagship project aimed at positioning Ogun as a strategic aviation and logistics hub. At the facility, the President will also unveil two newly acquired aircraft under Gateway Air, launched in partnership with ValueJet.

The President will also observe a cargo operations demonstration by SAHCOL, indicating readiness for full commercial logistics activities.

Other assets slated for commissioning at the airport include 1,000 electric bikes under an e-mobility initiative, 80 security vehicles to strengthen safety operations, and agricultural tractors to support food production.

Beyond the aviation facility, Tinubu will commission the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, designed to improve access to the airport and adjoining communities. He is also scheduled to inspect the Nigeria Customs Service Village and inaugurate a Forward Operating Base to enhance border security and trade facilitation.

The itinerary further includes the commissioning of the Gateway Aviation Village and the reconstructed Sapade–Ilishan Road, which will be renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway to boost connectivity and economic activity.

The visit will conclude with an inspection of the Sagamu–Benin Concrete Road, a critical federal infrastructure project aimed at improving mobility along a key transport corridor.

The projects reflect the development agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun, as well as ongoing collaboration between federal and state governments to drive sustainable development.
