President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to inaugurate a series of major infrastructure projects across Lagos State, in a move aimed at improving connectivity, education, and public services in the state.

Among the flagship projects is the Ojota–Opebi link bridge, a critical infrastructure designed to ease movement between Ikeja and Ojota. The president will also commission the upgraded Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, alongside key government facilities in Alausa, including the Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) building and a new multi-agency complex.

Other projects slated for inauguration include the Lagos Fresh Food Hub in Abijo along the Lekki–Epe Expressway, as well as the Maracana sports facility in Ajegunle.

A major highlight of the commissioning is the Ojota–Mende-Opebi Link Bridge, a 4.52-kilometre infrastructure expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity within the state.

The bridge, constructed across a swampy terrain, links Opebi in Ikeja to Mende and Maryland. It also features an interchange beneath the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge, providing seamless access to Ikorodu Road.

Beyond serving as an alternative route, the project establishes a direct connection between Opebi, Mende, and Maryland, cutting travel time and enhancing access to other parts of Lagos.

Originally conceived over two decades ago during Tinubu’s tenure as governor of Lagos State, the project was executed by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as part of ongoing efforts to modernise infrastructure and address traffic challenges in the state.
