The Aviation arm of the Nigerian Air Force (AviationNAF) has demonstrated its evolving air power and intelligence capabilities to participants of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) during an operational visit to Katsina State.

The visit, which forms part of the AFCSC’s curriculum for senior military officers, provided participants with firsthand exposure to the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) tactical operations, particularly in the areas of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR).

During the showcase, AviationNAF personnel highlighted the deployment of advanced aerial platforms and mission systems used in counterinsurgency and anti-banditry operations across Nigeria’s North-West region. Officials explained how ISR capabilities have significantly enhanced real-time intelligence gathering, target acquisition, and precision strikes against criminal elements.

Participants were also briefed on the integration of manned and unmanned aerial systems, as well as the coordination between air and ground forces in joint operations. The demonstration emphasized the critical role of air power in supporting national security efforts, especially in volatile regions like Katsina.

Speaking during the visit, senior NAF officers reiterated the force’s commitment to modernisation, capacity building, and inter-agency collaboration. They noted that continuous training and exposure to real-time operations are vital for shaping strategic military leadership.

The AFCSC participants commended the professionalism and operational efficiency displayed by AviationNAF, describing the experience as both insightful and essential for understanding contemporary warfare dynamics.

The engagement underscores the Nigerian military’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional knowledge, improve operational effectiveness, and adapt to evolving security challenges across the country.
